FAQ

What experience do I need to join the Gym?

None at all.  Most of our classes are suitable for beginners with the exception of Fight Team Training.  Just make sure you advise staff  beforehand that you have no previous experience and if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask.  We take pride in providing a safe and friendly environment for everyone.

What equipment will I need?

For all classes it is advised you use a gum shield and for men, a groin guard.

BJJ Class:

  • Brazilian Jui Jitsu or Judo Gi/Kimono

MMA ABC:

  • Bag mitts or MMA Gloves

MMA Intermediate/Advanced:

  • Boxing Gloves (16oz)
  • Shin and instep Pads
  • MMA Sparring Gloves
  • MMA Fight Gloves

Desirable Equipment:

  • Hand Wraps

We have some equipment you can use during the classes but if you take this up on a regular basis it is better (and more hygienic) to get your own.

Will I have to compete?

No one is forced to compete, it’s your choice.   If you simply want to get fit, tone up or just learn the techniques that is fine with us.  However if you do want to compete we have trained many fighters.

I don’t want to be part of a class, do you do private sessions?

Private sessions are available and affordable.  Speak to the Head Coach (Spenna) about booking these.

Am I too old to train?

Anyone of any age can benefit, don’t think that you are too young or too old. There really is something for everyone.  We offer Kage Kids for 6 – 14 yr olds and there is no upwards limit on our other classes.
